The biggest
threat to most endangered species is human encroachment on their habitat.
(Humans atake up space, alter the ecosystem, and often kill large animals
for food, medicine, sport, or self-defense.) It costs money to support
conservation efforts. One technique used to raise money for
conservation is to auction permits to hunt a few animals (including
endangered species) and to use that money to fund conservation.
