Factual information: present and correct: information is correct, referenced, understood and focused on a community (city, town, or rural area of a county). The history of the hazard in the area - should include examples of past event in the community and indicate how common the hazard is in the local area.
Risk/probability - the likelihood the hazard will impact the area
Consequences - the consequences of the hazard in the community (most likely and worst case) and linkages to other hazards
How the hazard is currently being addressed: what is being done by the community to address the hazard?
How the hazard should be addressed: what are the good and bad points of the plans in place? what do you think should be done that isn't being done and why?
Overall elements: Depth of information presented: more than a cursory examination of the topic, research provided interesting information beyond that of the textbook. Exploration means that you have looked into all of the areas relevant to your project area. The project must be focused on a community (city, town, or rural area of a county) and you need to find out how the hazard impacts the community and how the community is responding to that hazard.
Visual elements: visuals that support the presentation and are clear and easy to understand (pictures & maps are required); visuals must be called out from the text.
References present: all facts must be referenced and must support the information presented; sources must be cited within the text.
