Problem 6.e.

On this map, the stream sediments (alluvium) of different ages have been labeled. Directions for doing the math are below the images.

Rate = distance/time

• distance = the length of the segment (use the map scale to measure the distance)
• time = the time sediment was deposited in that channel
  • for segment 1: time = 10,000 - 3680
  • for segment 2: time = 3680
