Drawing Contour Lines: Step 5
Draw the the remaining contour lines (in this case, at 10-foot intervals) by following the steps you used for the first two lines. Notice that the lines are roughly parallel, do not cross, and V away from the coast (up stream). The last line you draw will be the 70-foot line, the highest elevation on the map is 71 feet. Every fifth line is an index contour (in this case, the 50-foot line).
